Focus on Physical Activity

Put a little spring in your step.

Flowers are blooming, and the days are growing longer. Spring is officially in the air! Now is the perfect time to improve your health with physical activity. From reducing your risk for chronic disease to improving your moods, being more physically active can have some big health benefits.

Go for a hike. The weather is warming up, making it a great time to enjoy the state parks. Strap on your shoes and explore your local trails. Pack a healthy snack and enjoy the beauty of nature for a day. Check out the events and trails for each State Park now.

Start a garden. Gardening can be a great form of exercise. Breathe in some fresh air and take advantage of the warm weather by planting a vegetable or flower garden. Digging, raking, and pruning are great activities to get the heart pumping.  Just don’t forget your sunscreen!

Bring a buddy. Whether you’re trying a new class, going for a walk, or taking a bike ride, get your friends and family involved. It’s a great way to stay motivated and spend quality time together. You can stay active and healthy right in your community.
